Man shot sitting on porch in Southwest Philadelphia

Police are investigating a shooting overnight in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened just after midnight in the 2500 block of Millick Street.

Police say someone inside a car fired a gun at a man sitting on the porch.

When officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate the victim, but noticed single spent shotgun shell, and a dark blue Chevy Impala fleeing the scene. The car later crashed into some parked vehicles along Grays Avenue.

Police apprehended the driver following the crash, and discovered a sawed off shotgun in the back seat of the car.

Officers were then directed to HUP for a shooting victim, where they located the 25-year-old man who was shot during the incident.

The victim told police he was sitting on his porch when shots were fired, and treated his wounds inside his home before he was picked up and taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

He was listed in stable condition and treated for gunshot wounds to his chin, chest, and hand.
