Missing elderly man found

Police say an elderly man, who had been missing since yesterday, has been found.

The Clearwater Police Department said 82-year-old Bob Taylor -- who has Parkinson's, early dementia and usually needs a walker or cane to get around -- was last seen around 3 p.m. at his Regency Oaks South home.

With temperatures at the coldest they've been all season, officials said they were extremely worried for him and issued several pleas for the public's help to find him,

Police say Taylor was found alive this morning lying in a wooded area of a cemetery not far from his home. In a post on the Clearwater Police Department's Facebook page, police said Det. Thomas Dawe tried to keep Taylor warm by carrying him to a sunny area to warm up until paramedics could get there. He also covered him in jackets.

Taylor was taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia. Family members say he is doing well and on the road to recovery.
