Multiple people injured in Mantua shooting

- Multiple people were injured in a shooting in Philadelphia’s Mantua neighborhood late Sunday night, including one man who is now in critical condition.

Police say they were trying to break up a crowd near 39th and Brown Street when they heard gunshots a block away.

Officers investigated and found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the victims had already been taken to hospitals, including an 18-year-old who had been shot in the back, and a 21-year-old who had been shot in the arm.

A 24-year-old man who had been shot all over his body was rushed to the hospital by police and listed in critical condition.

Police say they were later notified of a fourth victim, a 21-year-old man, who suffered a graze wound to the head and left the scene before they arrived.

Nearby homes and vehicles were also struck by gunfire, but no further injuries have been reported. Investigators are looking to review surveillance cameras in the area for more evidence.
