Multiple people taken to hospital after fire in Germantown duplex

A two-alarm fire in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood sent six civilians and one firefighter to the hospital Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out inside a duplex on the 200 block of Manheim Street just before 3:30 a.m. and quickly grew to two alarms as 20 trucks and 75 fire fighters responded to the scene.

Fire officials say six civilians and one firefighter were taken to area hospitals for observation and are all expected to be okay.

The two homes were engulfed in flames and firefighters had a trouble getting the fire under control.

Multiple people were displaced from the two homes following the fire.
