Neshaminy School Board Removes Jerry Devine as Coach

WTXF - Jerry Devine, whose physical confrontation with a referee was captured in a viral video that made national news, has been dismissed as head coach of Neshaminy High School's basketball team, the school district confirmed.

The incident took place during a January 5 game against Pennsbury, when Devine confronted a referee over a disputed call in the waning moments of the game.

Devine had previously been on indefinite leave from his coaching position, although he returned to work as a teacher at the school January 12.

Devine has also been issued a summary harassment citation by Middletown Police.
