Pedestrian struck, killed by SEPTA bus

A man has been confirmed dead following an accident involving a SEPTA shuttle bus in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The crash left the man, a pedestrian, trapped underneath of the bus.

The man has been identified as 93-year-old Edward Hill, Sr. of Glenside.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. Saturday along Limekiln Pike.

The man was attempting to cross Limekiln Pike as the bus was making a left from Glensive Avenue. He made contact with the left hand side of the bus. He then became pinned under the bus.

When first responders got to the scene, he was not responsive. Within a half hour, he was pronounced at the scene.

SEPTA says passengers were on the bus, but no other injuries have been reported at this time.

The bus driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene. She is cooperating fully with the investigation.
