Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia

Philadelphia Police are continuing to investigate a crash that killed a pedestrian in Southwest Philadelphia Friday evening.

The crash occurred along the 7300 block of Lindbergh Boulevard around 8:00 p.m.

Police say a 64-year-old man crossed the street away from a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle operated by an 18-year old man.

A second vehicle observed the collision and attempted to avoid striking the pedestrian, causing we to swerve into the back of the striking vehicle.

Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead at 8:20 p.m.

Police say both drivers remained on scene and no DUI is suspected.

The investigation is ongoing.
