Sheriff's Sgt. charged with indecent assault against subordinate

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A Sheriff's Sgt. has been arrested and charged with indecent assault after an alleged incident involving one of his subordinates at the department.

Back in late October of 2017, a female Deputy Sheriff reported to the Special Victim's Unit that she was working on an assignment last May and was indecently assaulted by her supervisor.

Investigators say the 43-year-old victim and her supervisor were parked in a vehicle under a bridge in the area of 16th and Westmoreland Street. That's when the victim says her supervisor, 42-year-old Stephen Postell, allegedly assaulted her.

The victim also reported she had been sexually assaulted by Postell on another occasion while at their place of work.

On Friday, Postell was arrested by Philadelphia Police and charged with indecent exposure, indecent assault, and simple assault.
