A special visit for a hero.

The University of Pennsylvania police officer who was shot several times during a shooting ambush in West Philadelphia Friday received a visit from four Philadelphia Eagles before he was released from the hospital.

Players Zach Ertz, Jordan Matthews, Trey Burton, and Jordan Hicks came to Penn Presbyterian Hospital to wish Officer Ed Miller well.

A photo of the visit was tweeted by the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police.

Officer Miller suffered gunshot wounds to his hip and leg area during a shooting in West Philadelphia Friday night that killed one woman, and injured five other people, including another police officer. The gunman, 25-year-old Nicholas Glenn, was killed in a shootout with police.

Miller is a retired Philadelphia Police officer who has been with UPenn Police for two years.
