Philadelphia School District and Reform Commission Sign Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement

- After years of tension between the city council and the Philadelphia school district, the two have reached an agreement. 

On Wednesday, the two sides signed an agreement requiring the district to provide more information on a regular basis, aimed at making council more comfortable and freeing up 25 million dollars in extra funding. 

But both sides were quick to point out, this is no big picture solution. 

The news is no better for nearly 200 Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area.

Which are still waiting for nearly nine million dollars to pay for textbooks, work books, art and music supplies, held hostage by the budget stalemate in Harrisburg.
