Philly's Vetri Sells Restaurants

Philadelphia celebrity chef and restaurateur Marc Vetri has agreed to sell the majority of his Vetri Family group of restaurants to the parent company of Urban Outfitters- a deal that will lead to an expansion of the Pizzeria Vetri concept.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Urban Outfitters is also based in the Philadelphia region.

The original restaurant, called Vetri, is not part of the deal, but the rest of the group- Osteria, Amis, Alla Spina, Lo Spiedo and Pizzeria Vetri- is included.

"It's a perfect match," Marc Vetri said in a statement. "URBN and the Vetri Family share the same singular goal, we pride ourselves on bringing the best possible experience to our customers and community. Through this partnership, and the experience URBN has in scaling growth opportunities, the Vetri Family will now be able to focus on what we do best - run restaurants that make people happy."
