Police: Armed suspects tie up family during Rhawnhurst home invasion

A husband and wife are in the hospital following an armed home invasion in Rhawhurst.

The incident took place just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say four masked men entered a home on the 2000 block of Rhawn Street by removing an air conditioner from a window. One of the suspects was armed.

The couple and another family member who lives in the home were reportedly tied up with rope and tape.

Officials say the wife was struck on the back of her had and sustained a large bruise, as well as a serious injury to her face. The husband suffered superficial injuries to his face.

The suspects got away with about $400 in cash and a cell phone, according to police.

The husband and wife, who were transported to Nazareth Hospital for treatment, are expected to be okay.

This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
