Police Investigate Violent Home Invasion in Northeast Philadelphia

Police are investigating a home invasion in Northeast Philadelphia. Three people were home during the incident.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on the 1300 block of Sellers Street.

Police say two male suspects broke through the plexi-glass window of the first floor apartment, bursting into the bedroom of a 51-year-old man while he was sleeping.

The masked suspects then pointed a gun at the man's head, gagged him with a shirt and tied him up with electrical tape.

The man's 52-year-old wife and 10-year-old grandson were sleeping in a different room of the home at the time and hid under a bed, and called police.

Meanwhile, the suspects stole a TV and cash from the home before fleeing.

Police arrived on scene and untied the male victim.

Investigators say both men were armed with dark colored handguns, and are believed to be in their 30s or 40s.

The investigation is ongoing.
