Police investigating North Philadelphia home invasion

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are investigating a home invasion that happened in North Philadelphia.

The incident occurred on the 1500 block of West Thompson Street at 3:00 a.m.

According to police, a 23-year-old victim reported that he was sleeping inside his home when he was awakened by an unknown black male at gunpoint.

The victim said that the male made him disable the Find My iPhone app on his cell phone and laptop.

When the male heard the victim's roommate enter the home, the male fled from the home in an unknown direction.

The victim's roommate reported that he had just gotten home when he saw the front door was open. He says he was on the first floor of the home when he heard footsteps upstairs.

He yelled upstairs to his roommate at which point the suspect ran down the steps and pointed a black-colored handgun at him as he fled the home.

The roommate them heard another set of footsteps coming down the stairs.

At that point, he thought that everyone was gone and yelled out to his roommate, however, he encountered another unknown black male who pointed a gun at him as he ran out of the house.

The victim then ran downstairs and told his roommate that they had been robbed.

Taken from the victim were his cell phone, notebook laptop, and a wallet containing various ID and an unknown amount of USC.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as black males with dark complexions, scruffy bears, 5'10", 175 pounds, wearing dark clothing, black hooded sweatshirts, and armed with small black handguns.
