Homeless Shelter Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The man who Philadelphia Police say is responsible for Sunday morning's shooting at a North Philadelphia homeless shelter that left one dead and another wounded has turned himself in.

A warrant had been issued earlier in the day for Brock, a homeless man who had formerly resided at the shelter but was refused entry on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Edward Barksdale, 43, an employee of the shelter. The other individual, a 26-year-old male who survived the shooting, worked at the shelter as well.

The shooting unfolded Sunday morning at the station house shelter in North Philadelphia. Both victims are employees who were there to help the homeless until witnesses say, one of the people they were trying to help opened fire on them.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Brock's capture.
