Police Nab Suspect in West Philadelphia Homicide

- Philadelphia Police have announced the arrest of a man in connection with a shooting in West Philadelphia late a week ago.

Malcom William, 39, has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 57-year-old male back on December 30th.

Around 2:13 p.m. that afternoon, police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1200 block of N. Redfield Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim, identified as Seth Fasset, lying on the sidewalk after he was shot in the chest.

Fasset was taken to Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say the men were involved in an and physical altercation before William allegedly drew a gun, and shot Fasset, and fled the scene in a minivan.

William has been charged with murder, violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, and related offenses.

Police say William had 18 prior arrests.
