Police: Roxborough barricade over; suspect dead

Police say a barricade has ended after a man shot himself near River Road.

The barricade began around 5:30 Saturday morning.

When officers arrived on scene, the man fired shots a police.

According to police, the man was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m. and numerous weapons were recovered.

25 neighbors were evacuated during the barricade while others were told to stay in place. Authorities say the armed man had military training and an arsenal of weapons in his home. Hours into the standoff without hearing from the alleged gunman SWAT teams sent in robots.

Septa's Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail line has been restored.

Police say there were no injuries to officers.
