Police seek suspect in assault of deli employee

- Surveillance video shows a man going off on a woman. The video shows him attacking her after an argument.

"I said you're stupid. He said say it one more time. I said you're stupid," says the victim who doesn’t want to be identified. She says she called the suspect stupid.  She was charging him $5.99 for a cheesesteak but he only wanted to pay $4.00.  He got mad and they started arguing. But then he did something that made the woman mad.
"He squeezed the juice bottle in the little hole in the front of the store in the window," she said.  The video shows the man get irritated and squeeze a bottle of juice through the bullet proof glass. The woman behind the counter is the owner of Daylight Deli on Elmwood Avenue in Southwest Philly where it happened.  She says that set her off so she ran out to confront him.
"I want to talk to him. I just want to talk to him. I never fight with nobody," she said.   But the suspect clearly did not want to talk.  So he began punching her over and over and over.
"I never thought about he could hit my face," she said. When he got finished her nose and eyes were swollen.
We went to the pizza shop across the street to see if they knew what happened.  Marie Perri had already seen the video.
"It was crazy because she is such a nice lady," she said.  Perri says it totally shocked her that the woman came from behind the counter which was probably the safest place she could be.
"I was scared for her like I couldn't believe it.  I would have never came behind the counter," said Perri.
The victim says she wasn't expecting what happened to happen.
"Most customers around here are really nice," said the victim.
