Police: Shots fired at man, woman inside car in Kensington

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Police have released surveillance footage of an apparent shooting stemmed from road rage in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened on June 5 at 10:22p.m., when 42-year-old male and a 23-year-old female, were traveling east on the 100 block of East Lehigh Avenue.

While en-route to their destination an unknown black or Hispanic male who was operating a Dodge Challenger with a light blue racing stripe on the hood was in two lanes blocking them from passing, police say.

The 23-year-old driver, who was operating the vehicle, made a left turn onto Front Street traveling north when the suspect began following them.

The 42-year-old passenger and the suspect were then engaged in a verbal dispute in reference to their vehicle passing his, according to a police report.

During the dispute the suspect pulled a firearm and discharged twice at the people in the vehicle striking it twice in the rear driver's side door and window.

The suspect then fled and was last seen north on the 2700 block of North Front Street.

Officers describe the suspect as Black or Hispanic male, 35-45 years-of-age, medium complexion wearing glasses.

Police say the suspect was driving a blue Dodge Challenger with chrome rims and light blue racing stripe on the hood.
