Police: Suspect sexually assaults woman in East Germantown home

Police are looking to identify and locate a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman inside her East Germantown home last week.

The assault occurred back on Tuesday, August 7 around 4:45 p.m. on the unit block of East Johnson Street.

Investigators say the suspect entered the victim's home through a basement door. Once inside, the suspect held the 30-year-old victim at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect then took the woman's phone cell phone and then fled the home. He was last seen heading north on Morton Street from Johnson Street. The victim's cell phone was later found by a passerby.

The suspect has been described by police as a black male in his 30s, with a beard and black eyeglasses, a thin build, and tattoos on both arms.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
