Reward Offered in Robbery, Shooting of 75-Year-Old

A $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of the man who shot a 75-year-old woman in the face during an attempted robbery on the morning of New Years' Eve.

The shooting took place at 9:55 a.m. on December 31, as the 75-year-old woman was shot on Montague Street by an assailant who was attempting to steal her purse.

The assailant is described as a Hispanic male, about 5'10" with a large build, and in his late 20s to early 30s. His car, which was caught on surveillance, is a white Nissan Maxima from between 2004 and 2006.

The reward money consists of $5,000 from the Fraternal Order of Police and an additional $1,000 by the Citizens Crime Commission.
