SEPTA GM to address Regional Rail Equipment Problems at Sunday Press Conference

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - SEPTA say it has has identified a significant structural defect with its Silverliner V Regional Rail cars.

All 120 Silverliner V cars, which comprise approximately one-third of the Regional Rail fleet, are currently out-of-service for inspection.
This will not adversely impact service through Monday July 4, as the weekend/holiday schedules can be accommodated with the remainder of the fleet.

It is likely that this loss of vehicles will persist until repairs can be completed.

Contingency service plans for regular weekday travel are currently being developed.

SEPTA will hold a press conference at 2PM Sunday July 3rd to discuss further details.
