Six injured in Newark, DE crash after truck strikes bridge

Authorities in Delaware are investigating a crash that injured six people in Newark Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics responded to Casho Mill Road near Munro Road around 12:15 p.m.

According to police, a U-Haul truck carrying six people struck a railroad bridge. Police say two passengers were riding in the truck's cab, while four others were inside the truck's storage area.

All six passengers sustained injuries, including a 24-year-old woman who was flown to Christiana hospital in serious condition.

Five others were taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition.

Police believe the truck was too tall for safe passage under the bridge.
