Police: Student stabbed inside school in Logan

SKYFOX was over the scene of a stabbing inside a school in the city's Logan neighborhood that sent one student to the hospital Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on the 1300 block of Louden Street.

Officers say they responded to a report of a stabbing inside the Jay Cooke Junior High that involved a student. According to school district officials, a fight broke out in a hallway, resulting in a 8th grade girl being stabbed twice by another student.

She was taken to Einstein Hospital in non-critical condition, with stab wounds to the arm and shoulder. She is expected to recover.

Another 8th grade girl was taken into custody. Police and officials say the fight erupted after a long simmering dispute.
