PAULSBORO, N.J. (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Paulsboro, New Jersey Saturday night.
Around 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West Buck Street in Gloucester County, where they found a 21-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as Davontae Randall, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses say a suspect fled the scene of the shooting on foot, according to prosecutors. The suspect remains at large.
Gloucester County Medical Examiner Dr. Gerald Feigin ruled the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death a homicide.
Detectives say the victim was in a physical altercation with the suspect, who was known to the victim, leading up to the shooting.
“We do not believe it was a random act. We do not believe there is any imminent danger to the community,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles Fiore. “We are aggressively investigating this homicide and we are doing everything possible to bring justice to the individual who carried out this act of senseless violence.”
