Suspect sought in Overbrook armed robberies

Police in Southwest Philadelphia are looking to identify a suspect wanted for a number of robberies at a 7-Eleven store in Overbook.

The first of the two robberies occurred back on March 12 around 5:30 a.m. at a store on the 6300 block of Lebanon Avenue. In this robbery, police say the suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and pointed it at the employee, a 58-year-old man.

Police say the employee managed to run into the back officer and call police, causing the suspect to flee the store on foot. Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported.

On March 23, around 3:00 a.m., a 64-year-old man as working at the same store, when the suspect entered the store, jumped over the counter and pulled a knife.

The suspect then demanded money, and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

No injury was reported in either incident.

Police have described the suspect as a 20-year-old black male, standing 5'8" to 5'10", with an athletic build. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
