Police: Temple University Student Sexually Assaulted

Police say a Temple University student was sexually assaulted on Monday night.

According to police, the female Temple student was sexually assaulted near the campus on North Carlisle Street around 11:15 p.m. Monday.

Police say the 20-year-old female was walking alone when she was jumped from behind. Police say she was struck in the arm with a small silver handgun, pushed against a wall and sexually assaulted. The attacker ran off northbound on Carlisle. Police hope surveillance cameras caught a glimpse of the suspect.

Detectives spent all day Tuesday searching for clues. Temple University students are on edge after the alleged attack. Students say the area is an up-and-coming location.
