Temple Students Robbed, Carjacked in Two Separate Incidents

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF)- Philadelphia Police are investigating two armed robberies near Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia.

The incidents both occurred early Thursday morning.

The first of the two incidents occurred off campus, near the university's football facility at 10 th and Susquehanna Streets around 1:00 a.m.

Police say a 21-year-old Temple football player was leaving a Chinese restaurant and was headed to his car when he was approached by two men. One of the men was armed with a gun.

The suspects then stole the victim's wallet and keys, and fled the scene in the victim's 2005 Cadillac.

Later in the evening a male in his early twenties was on his way home when he was held up at gun point by two men on campus at 15 th and Montgomery Streets, near the Liacouras Center.

Police say the two male suspects were wearing red hoodies, and stole the victim's cell phone and wallet.

Detectives do not believe the two incidents are related at this time.
