Tornado confirmed in Lancaster County

LANCASTER, Pa.- The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado did indeed touch down in Lancaster County Wednesday night. They say it touched down near Salisbury Township.

The National Weather Service plans to surveyed damage in Lancaster and Bradford counties to determine whether it was caused by tornadoes.

Lancaster County officials say up to 50 buildings have been damaged, including an Amish school house that was leveled. There were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.

The storm knocked out power for many homes in the area as well.

The National Weather Service will continue to survey the area.
