Two arrested, charged in Cheltenham aggravated assault

- Two people have been arrested in connection with an aggravated assault in Cheltenham Sunday night.

The incident occurred at 11:20 p.m. on the 2000 block of Mather Way in the Lynnewood Gardens apartment complex.

Officers responded to the location for the report of an assault.

When they arrived, they found a male victim bleeding profusely from the head.

The victim told police that he saw a white male attempting to steal a wheel from his vehicle. When the victim confronted the man he was beaten about the head with a wrench and a brick.

The man then got into a silver Chevy Cruze being drive by a white female and fled the scene.

Before they left, the victim was about to pull a T-shirt from the registration plate and retrieve the tag information, which came back registered to a home in Ambler.

Officers from Ambler PD and Cheltenham PD set up surveillance on the home and the vehicle arrived shortly afterwards.

The two suspects were positively identified by the victim and take into custody.

They have been identified as 44-year-old Sergio Gullo, and 37-year-old Emi Oka.

The victim was treated and then released while both suspects were taken to Cheltenham Police Station for processing.

Gullo was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person, and conspiracy.

Oka was charged with conspiracy to commit the following crimes: robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, recklessly endangering another person, and receiving stolen property. She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
