Two men rob Southwark East deli at gunpoint

- South Detectives are searching for two men who robbed a deli in Southwark East on Saturday.

The incident occurred at El Oasis Deli located on the 1600 block of South 6th Street at 6:50 p.m.

According to police, two unknown black males wearing mask were captured on surveillance video approaching the deli as they walked south on 6th Street from Tasker.

When the men entered, they immediately pulled out handguns and demanded that a 22-year-old female employee open the cash register.

The employee complied with the demands and handed the suspects an undetermined amount of money.

The men also took two iPhones – one pink, one silver – that were behind the counter area and then fled. They were last seen north on 6th Street and then west Tasker Street.

No injuries were reported.

Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 20-years-of-age, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, gray sweatpants, dark-colored boots, and armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 20-years-of-age, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with bubble letters on the front and back, light-colored jeans, and armed with a handgun.
