PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Two people are dead and seven people are injured — four of them critically — following a violent night in Philadelphia.
A man was critically wounded in a West Oak Lane shooting just after 10 p.m. on the 2100 block of Middleton Street. The 29-year-old man was shot twice in the stomach.
A short time later, a man and woman were hospitalized after a shooting near 2nd Street and Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia. The man is in critical condition, while the woman is stable.
Around the same time, Philadelphia's Tioga neighborhood saw two separate shootings that left one man dead and another critically injured.
The first shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near West Westmoreland and North 15th streets. A 35-year-old man who was shot in the arm was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The second shooting happened about an hour later on 18th and West Tioga streets. Police say a 33-year-old man was shot six times. He is listed in critical condition.
Around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a fatal double shooting in West Philadelphia.
Police say someone walked up to the bar and started shooting, fatally striking a 27-year-old man in the head. A 36-year-old who was shot in the stomach is in critical condition.
About 15 minutes later, police responded to a double stabbing outside SugarHouse Casino in Fishtown. Two men, ages 26 and 31, were hospitalized in stable condition.
No arrests have been made at this time in connection with the cases. These are ongoing investigations.
