Wilmington Police investigate patrol car shooting incident

Police in Wilmington, Delaware are investigating a shooting involving one of their marked patrol cars.

Friday July 1 st , a Wilmington officer was on patrol in his marked unit on the 300 block of East 5 th Street. Around 3:20 p.m. that afternoon an unknown object impacted the passenger side of his patrol car.

The officer got out of his car to examine the damage and determined the hole was caused by some sort of projectile, which impacted the rear passenger door.

Police canvased the area for witnesses and suspects, but were unable to locate anyone with information about the incident.

The officer was not injured in the incident.
