Woman, 19, missing after being swept away in flooded Pennsylvania creek

A 19-year-old Pennsylvania woman is missing after police say she was swept away by floodwaters Monday night.

According to FOX 43, Dauphin County authorities are searching for Laura Olweiler after she was swept away by Conewago Creek.

Authorities say several days of heavy rain in the area led to high water levels that swept Olweiler and another woman into the creek as they tried to walk across it Monday night around 8:55 p.m.

The other woman was able to get out of the water safely.

A number of fire departments, an aerial rescue team, and the National Guard resumed the search for Olweiler on Tuesday.
