Woman injured after crashing car into a tree in Oxford Circle

A woman was seriously injured following a single vehicle crash in Oxford Circle early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on Castor Avenue at Fox Chase Road just before 6:00 a.m.

A 31-year-old woman was driving a Chrysler Sebring on Castor Avenue through the intersection and turned onto Bustleton Avenue.

She swerved to avoid a cat and hit a tree. The woman suffered double compound fractures and was extracted from the vehicle by emergency crews.

She was taken to Aria Torresdale.

No one else was in the car at the time of the accident.
