Local woman hopes to create autism awareness with powerful video

A Quakertown woman is hoping her powerful words can help create autism awareness.

Brit Reiger shared the video on Facebook to show the emotions a parent goes through when they hear the diagnosis their kid has autism. Brit's three children have autism. Her child, Gunner, was just diagnosed on Monday with autism.

"I never know if I'm doing the right thing. I have no idea what I'm doing. That's the one thing that makes this really hard is that I have no idea what I'm doing and they can't tell me," she explained." I never know if I'm hugging them too hard. I never know if they didn't want my kiss. I never know if my snuggling is bothering them. I never know if I'm doing too much therapy. I never know if I'm not doing enough."

She asks parents to teach their children to treat everyone equal. She wants people to lead by example and not be cruel to others in the world.

She will share her story on Good Day Philadelphia Wednesday morning.
