Longwood Gardens, Jewish Museum attracted thousands on Christmas

Christmas is traditionally a fun day off to spend with loved ones, regardless of religion and culture.

FOX 29's Brad Sattin found a lot of people didn't just sit at home, around their Christmas tree.

Instead, about 8,000 trekked to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, which boasts 124 Christmas trees.

They saw an 18-foot Douglas fir all decked out with musical instruments, since this year's theme is Sounds of the Season.

The biggest ever there -- a 30-footer -- isn't really a tree. It's made of 1300 potted plants.

The Longwood Gardens exhibit continues through Jan. 8.

It'll be open 9am-10pm, and it's recommended to get tickets ahead of time to stay in the Christmas spirit.

Also, about 1,000 turned out for an annual event with learning, and arts and crafts, at the National Museum of American Jewish History on Independence Mall.
