Lost engagement ring found around growing carrot

13 years after losing her engagement ring, a Canadian woman received a special surprise this week.

Mary Grams of Alberta, Canada was weeding on her family's farm in 2004 when she lost her diamond engagement ring. "I started looking crouched on my hands and knees and I got nowhere and I tried this for many days," she said.

She ended up replacing the ring and keeping it a secret from everyone- including her husband.

But earlier this week, her daughter-in-law was harvesting when she discovered the ring attached to a misshapen carrot.

The carrot was able to grow through and around the ring after all these years. "It just doesn't seem real," she said.

Grams' husband passed away five years ago. They were married for 60 years.
