Lowe's donates mower to boy robbed at lemonade stand

North Carolina based Lowe's is getting results for a boy in Union County who was robbed at gunpoint while operating his lemonade stand over the weekend.

Dozens of people from across the country tweeted and emailed FOX 46 Charlotte wondering how you could help get results for the 9-year-old boy. He was selling along lemonade at a round-a-bout in his neighborhood in Monroe on Saturday when a teenager stuck a gun to his stomach and demanded money. The boy was trying to save money to buy a lawn mower for his other business.

Lowe's heard about the story and donated a brand new riding lawn mower to the boy Monday morning.

Those living in the st. John's Forest neighborhood also helped get results by buying hundreds of cups of lemonade both Sunday and Monday.

"It feels great that the neighborhood came out. They have given him money, support. They gave him notes of encouragement they gave him letters. It's just great they came out in support of him," said Phillip Smith, the boys father.
