Main Line woman arrested on multiple drug charges

Tredyffrin Township Police say they have arrested a Main Line woman on multiple drug charges.

According to police, Lynne Twaddle, 61, was arrested Tuesday on drug charges, including possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At the time of the arrest, police say they discovered 80 bags of heroin in her Wayne Township home.

The arrest was part of a four month long undercover investigation, during which authorities were tipped off that Twaddle had been distributing the drug, police say. Neighbors were surprised to hear that police allegedly got 250 baggies of heroin from Twaddle after making at least four undercover buys at her Wayne house, which happens to be right across the street from New Eagle Elementary School.

"Concern over the impact of opiate drugs on the Mainline has prompted pro-active police investigations such as this one," said Detective Sergeant Todd J. Bereda. "We have gone to great lengths to attempt to identify those engaging in distributing pills and heroin and have a zero tolerance approach in this line of enforcement. The most important thing to do is to de-mystify this drug and those that it has touched. Every family has a friend or loved one struggling with an addiction."

Twaddle is being held on $50,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 31.
