Man apprehended after allegedly sexually assaulting woman in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A suspect is in custody after police say he sexually assaulted a woman in Northeast Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. on the 2300 block of Welsh Road.

Police say the 24-year-old victim was assaulted in a parking lot behind a building in the area.

A 47-year-old man was apprehended by police and taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
