Man arrested in stabbing of Southwest Philadelphia business owner

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Philadelphia Police say a man is facing charges in two separate incidents.

According to police, on October 8th officers responded to Dicks Avenue, Southwest Auto Tag Service to investigate a report of a robbery and a male stabbed inside. When officers arrived on location, they found the 62-year-old male victim lying inside suffering from numerous stab wounds all throughout his body.

Police say the victim was only able to relay to officers that he had been stabbed and robbed; he was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by Medic and listed in very critical condition. The victims black flip cell phone, a pocket book, a mini iPad 4 gold in color; his wallet containing between $800 to $1500 dollars were taken, according to investigators.

Police say Malcolm Pollard,22, was arrested in York, PA in reference to a separate matter; on Monday, February 22, 2016, Pollard was transported to Southwest Detectives for further investigation in reference to the Robbery and Stabbing. Pollard is charged with: Robbery, Violation of the Uniform Firearm Act, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault and related offenses.

In addition to the aforementioned incident, police say, Malcolm Pollard was also charged with the Commercial Robbery of the 7 Eleven located at 2900 South 70th Street on October 7, 2015. He is charged with: Robbery, Theft, Simple Assault, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and related offenses.
