Murder suspect apprehended in Camden County

Authorities say a man who was charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Burlington City has been apprehended in Camden County.

According to investigators, Samuel James, who was charged with murder for the shooting death of Byron Turner on Saturday in Burlington City, has been apprehended in Barrington, Camden County. He was taken into custody at approximately 4:15 p.m. Monday. His bail has been set at $1 million.

Authorities say Burlington City officers were called to the scene just before 7 p.m. Saturday and found Turner shot in his head. He was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead.

Police say bullets sprayed the neighborhood made up mostly of families. They even went door-to-door, asked people to stay inside their homes and used a chopper to search.

A five-year-old girl in the area was injured while running from the gunfire, but she was not shot. She was taken to the hospital, and treated and released.

Police talked to FOX 29's Sabina Kuriakose about the investigation into what happened to the five-year-old.
