Man hospitalized after alleged stabbing in Center City

Philadelphia police are investigating after a man was reportedly stabbed in Center City Sunday.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Race Street just before 2, Sunday morning, on the report of a stabbing.

Police encountered a 28-year-old man who told them he had been attacked and stabbed by a group of people after leaving a bar.

Authorities say the victim suffered two stab wounds to his torso. He was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

A witness to the alleged stabbing told police she was about 10 feet in front of the victim at the time of the incident and turned around to see the attack happen.

Both the victim and the witness told police there was no fight prior to the stabbing.

Police say the attackers fled the scene, heading both east and west on Race Street.
