Man in critical condition after being shot in head in Frankford

FRANKFORD (WTXF) - A man is in extremely critical condition after a shooting in Frankford Wednesday night.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Officers arrived at the location and observed an unconscious male on the ground suffering from a gunshot to the head.

Police say someone walked up to the victim at the 1500 block of Ruan Street and shot him in the head at point-blank range.

Officers placed the victim into a patrol car and transported him to Temple Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition.

Authorities say there are surveillance cameras in the area and they are working with local businesses to view them in hopes of learning just what happened. The investigation is active and ongoing.
