Man sought in Germantown bank robbery

The FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate a suspect in connection with a bank robbery.

It happened Wednesday at the Citizens Bank branch located at 5500 Germantown Avenue.

According to police, shortly before 2:30 p.m. the suspect entered the bank, approached the counter, and passed a demand note to a teller. Police say after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the area of the bank on foot. He was last seen heading west on Germantown Avenue toward Cheltenham Avenue.

The suspect is described as a male in his early 50s, approximately 5'8"-6' tall, average build, medium complexion, bald head, with gray facial stubble. He wore a black short-sleeve shirt, black and white basketball-style shorts, white and black sneakers, and black square-framed reading glasses.
