PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who is wanted for a home invasion and sexual assault in Germantown.
Police say it was just before 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when a man approached the rear of a home on the unit block of East Johnson Street and broke-in. According to police, he sexual assaulted a 30-year-old woman at gunpoint and he was ready to shoot.
"What we believe is that he may have the firearm in the cocked position with the hammer already back," Philadelphia Police Captain Sekou Kinebrew said.
It happened just moments after the suspect banged on a rear door telling the woman he was a landscaper. She told him to leave a card. Police say he returned and busted in.
A surveillance camera inside the home captured photos of the suspect's tattoos. He wore a gray shirt with the word 'Winner' on it and a black hat with a red circular emblem on it.
Police are hoping somebody recognizes the suspect from the photos. They also say he wore glasses. Police want neighbors to keep their doors locked. Investigators believe the suspect could live right in that very neighborhood.
