Man with rifle allegedly assaults and robs woman in Chester

A man walking around Chester, Pennsylvania with a rifle is caught on camera.

Police say that man allegedly assaulted and robbed a woman at gun point. The police say he is still on the loose and folks in Chester are nervous.

A woman was walking to a bus stop near East 24 th Street by the Walnut Chestnut Park Plaza Apartments approximately 4 a.m. October 13 in order to catch a bus to work.

That is when Chester police say she was attacked and robbed by the man.

A family member of the victim found surveillance video of the man holding a rifle and walking through the neighborhood.

Police say the suspect is described as a male in his early twenties.

The family member of the victim says she is recovering from the alleged assault.

"It's difficult to put it into words," says family member Brady Hall. "To watch somebody walk around with a rifle like that seconds before attacking my loved one."

"It's really scary. You know, I get off late nights, so, you know, I've got him walking with me because, you know, that's crazy."

Neighbors say one of the problems on the block is that it gets very dark at night.

Chester Police say the investigation is ongoing.
