Maryland Man Identified As Eighth Victim In Deadly Amtrak Accident

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Officials have identified an eighth victim involved in a deadly Amtrak accident. Family members and co-workers are now mourning the loss of 45-year old Bob Gildersleeve Jr.

We met his son while holding flyers of his dad hoping to find him Wednesday afternoon. 13-year old Marc Gildersleeve passed out flyers outside the Marriott at 12th and Market where the family is staying.

They've also been sharing his picture on social media. They hadn't seen Bob or heard from him since he boarded Amtrak train 188 in Baltimore yesterday. His wife dropped him off at the train station moments before boarding.

The family tells FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson that Bob was going to a business meeting in New York. The Baltimore resident is a vice president of sales at Ecolabs, a chemical company. The company released the following statement:

We have been notified that our associate, Bob Gildersleeve, lost his life in the Amtrak train derailment Tuesday night. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague. Bob was with Ecolab for 22 years, most recently as vice president of Corporate Accounts for our Institutional business in North America. Bob was an exceptional leader and was instrumental to our success. We will greatly miss him, and our thoughts go out to his beloved family members and friends.

The family spent every second trying to track down the father of two. They drove to Philadelphia from Baltimore yesterday morning after an agonizing night.
