McDonald's makes "McPick 2 for $5" official for a limited time

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

That's what many McDonald's customers are saying right now, as they discover the chain's super winter promotion is now ending.

Customers pulling up to many McD's restaurants this week are discovering the McPick 2 for $2 deal gone. The "McPick 2 for $5" menu is real and it's coming to McDonald's restaurants across the country starting February 29.

The Golden Arches confirmed the limited-time meal deal menu in a statement on the company's website.

"We wanted to thank our guests for providing their feedback as we continue to build a better McDonald's," Jessica Foust, McDonald's director of culinary innovation, said in a statement. "As a thank you and as proof that we will continue to listen, we are making our most iconic menu items available for a limited time at never-before-seen value."

In its place, at many restaurants, is a similar new deal. But, in case you didn't notice, the price is higher. Not all stores have done it yet, but the website Consumerist reports McDonald's is in the process of changing to a McPick 2 for $5.

The report says some stores still have the old deal but says the new one should be in all stores on March 1st.

"And now, the Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish and Quarter Pounder With Cheese will add another milestone to the history books by coming together for customers to mix and match and enjoy at a great price."
